Uncle Wiggly, known for playing a lively dance-friendly groove, at a human-centered volume in Sonoma County for over 30 years, blends tasty Blues, Funk, and Rock, with a mix of traditional and original songs. You’ll hear hints of Stevie Ray Vaughn, David Lindley, Dire Straits and Albert Lee, with two and three part vocal harmonies enhancing the listening experience.

Uncle Wiggly is powered by one of Sonoma counties best rhythm sections with noted local recording studio owner, radio personality and toastmaster Blair Hardman who definitely keeps things funky on bass guitar. Longtime friend and extraordinary drummer Jeff Forehan comes up from Santa Cruz CA where he teaches music at a local college. Tom Padrick, whose daytime expertise lies in the area of nutritional healing, songwriting and reading car magazines, holds more than his own on lead vocals and percussion. Don’t miss his high-energy tenor voice on blues classics such as “Texas Blues”. When John Heide is not distracted by real estate and writing screenplays, he widens things out on vocals and lead and rhythm guitar. Check John out on his wonderful semi-raunchy original song “Magazine Women”. Local legend, guitar player extraordinaire, songwriter and manufacturer Brendan Smith continues to amaze the crowds on lead and rhythm guitars and vocals.

Saffell is a gifted songwriter residing in the North Bay.

The unmistakable sound of Saffell is evident from the first note struck. Weaving together elements of Rock, Blues, Jazz and Funk, Saffell’s music defies simple classification. Saffell’s percussive attack on the piano is a style all his own. His songs are uncomplicated yet rich in there depth. Saffell’s songs have captivating narratives with one of a kind lyrics, sung with a rich and sultry vocal tone that could only be Saffell. Enlisting the talents of Nor-Cal native Doug Hafich, bass/vocals, and Deep South transplant Ben Lack,drums, this combo delivers without fail.

Joseph “Zigaboo” Modeliste is a master drummer, rhythm innovator, percussionist, and New Orleans legend. The most highly acclaimed drummer ever to hail from the Crescent City, Ziggy’s creativity has been a wellspring of funk influence for three decades and inspired many Hip-Hop tracks. His innovative work as a member of the internationally acclaimed R&B group, The Meters, as well as his side work with artists like Keith Richards, Robert Palmer, and Dr. John, has garnered him an unparalleled level of respect among musicians and fans. Ziggy’s style is unique. He is a master of creating funk grooves and new concepts for funk drumming. Zigaboo’s music consistently demonstrates that “Modeliste is the most brilliant American Funk percussionist of the Contemporary Era!”

The original The Meters LP’s were all recorded with Ziggy at the drums and his work has been sampled many times over from artists such as Musiq, Queen Latifah, Run DMC, NWA, Ice Cube, Salt N’ Pepa, Cypress Hill, EPMD, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, Naughty by Nature, and Tweet just to name a few. Jug Dealers hit the road in 2005 as an authentic old time jug band, wowing festival audiences and listeners, and even receiving a spotlight on NPR’s All Things Considered. Over the next three years they recruited some of the best talent from the SF Bay area, adding more conventional instruments and rapidly evolving into a larger, more sophisticated act. With a mash-up of Classic American Roots, Neo-Soul, Improvisational Jazz, Funk, and Ragtime, their audio brews are steeped in tradition, yet continually forward looking. Pushing the boundaries of modern music while paying homage to the past, the Dealers bring a freshness and relevance that appeals to audiences of all ages and genres.

After years of sharpening their skills in studios and on stages with acts including Melvin Seals JGB, Everyone Orchestra w/ Steve Kimock and Michael Kang, 7 Walkers, Radioactive, Moonalice, Hot Buttered Rum, Poor Man’s Whiskey, and many others…Jug Dealers released their self-titled debut album in April 2011. Aubergine’s Wednesday night Open Mic is a favorite with local musicians and those on tour in California.

Michael will often join in on bass and makes sure to include new musicians looking for a spot on this busy night.

Jazz Duality – 7:30pm

Jazz Duality will enhance any social situation with the classic jazz sound and a lot of soul. Don’t be fooled by the size of the group. These two guys, Oli Fraenkle on the keys and Steven A. Hoffman on the bass, put out a huge sound between them. High on extremely full harmonies and expressive solos, Jazz Duality’s music can take you on short journeys of jazz improvisation as well as entertain you with the melodies of classic jazz tunes.

Jazz Duality digs playing straight ahead. You will hear many of the great jazz composers such as: Ellington, Monk, Evans, Davis, Coltrane, Rogers/Hammerstein…in the duo setting.

Alma Desnuda – 10:20pm

Alma Desnuda (Spanish for “Naked Soul”) from the San Francisco Bay Area, is best known for their captivating harmonies, rhythmic grooves, and inspiring lyrics. Often described as California Acoustic Soul (a mix between Jack Johnson, Sublime and the Beatles), they were recently voted by the public as “Best Live Act 2011” (Slim’s SF). Grammy-winning recording artist and producer David Pack attributes the band’s success to their “natural-born stage charisma, whom like Dave Matthews Band, are an authentically gifted live act that have managed to capture lightening in a bottle.”

Following their award-winning debut album Middleway, the internationally-touring band’s sophomore release Riders has already won songwriting competitions like John Lennon Contest and has also generated spotlights from press and radio, including the title of “Top 5 to Watch in 2012” (Diablo Magazine).

McKenna Faith – 8:30pm

McKenna Faith is a country music singer/songwriter from Ukiah, CA. For only being 17, McKenna has an impressive resume under her belt. She spent 2011 touring to promote the release of her album Sugar & Spice, which she recorded on Music Row in Nashville. McKenna’s played with many big names; from Edens Edge, Josh Kelley, Bomshel and Casey James; to country music superstars Dierks Bentley, Thompson Square, and Luke Bryan to a crowd of more than 7,500 people. McKenna wrapped up 2011 with a series of performances in Hawaii at many Pearl Harbor ceremonies, including the official U.S.S. Arizona Memorial, where she debuted her military tribute single No Guts, No Glory.

And 2011 was only the beginning…

Taking her live performances to the next level, McKenna has been hard at work putting together a completely new show for her fans. With both covers of country hits (including Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and The Band Perry) and McKenna’s original songs from Sugar & Spice and her newest single Head Over My Boots For You, McKenna and her band of first-class musicians deliver a high energy, boot stomping set of country music!

2012 also includes McKenna’s venture into television, with several of her new songs having been selected for a documentary series highlighting America’s Wounded Warriors. In addition, McKenna has a packed summer touring schedule, including playing at the Jukebox Music Festival with the likes of Alan Jackson, Kellie Pickler, Joe Nichols, Scotty McCreery; and at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June.

Ancient Mystic & the Real Far Band – 9:30pm

Born in Napa ca, and raised in west Sonoma county ca, Danish/ Hawaiian reggae singer and hip hop artist “Ancient Mystic” is a local to Sebastopol and Northern California. Ancient Mystic music will take you on a journey. Mystic’s performance uses modern roots with witty lyrics, and a love message, fused with dancehall reggae, combining hip hop style verses and songs.

<Ancient Mystic says>” when I was 12 years old I visited hawaii where my mother is from and I took one lesson on the Ukulele. I loved it. it wasn’t until four years after that when I began writing origonal tunes. Jamming and singing was my thing. Eventually I moved to Hawaii as a teenager and began developing a “Raggamuffin style with my friend Kai. this “Raggamuffin style” was basically reggae rap over ukulele. when I moved to colorado I collaborated with hip hop mc’s using the Mc handle Ancient Mystic. Introducing my “ukulele ragamuffins” i was invited into my first homemade recording studios . this led to the desire to have a band and sing. In 2005 Back in Californian I started Ancient Mystic and the Real Far band.”

All along Ancient Mystic has been influenced by great recording artist like Bob Marley, Demean Marley, Gentleman, tupac, snoop dog and pop music in general. The real far band lasted for several years and has split up into several reggae projects in the Sonoma County

Happy Hour with Baba Fats – 4:30pm

Northern California based singer-songwriter Paul Thomas Nelson is a true child of the 60s, born on the north side of Detroit when his early Motown influences were still shaping music history. Joining a unique blend of modern acoustic pop, old-school R&B, reggae and rock & roll, Paul’s engaging melodies and infectious rhythms create an experience both nostalgic and novel. Following his early years playing clubs and festivals in and around the Ann Arbor, Michigan area, Paul relocated to Boulder, Colorado where he founded the band Baba Fats along with Rocky Mountain music staples Eben Grace, Wil Masisak, Sherri Jackson and Raoul de Rossiter. Paul penned every track on their well received debut album, Simple Miracles (Warp 9 Records), and served as their front man and composer until relocating to the Bay area in 2002. Paul is the founder and creative director for Beyond Reason Productions, Sebastopol, California. BRP has written and produced several documentary and independent film scores, including recent collaborations with United Kingdom based BonPom Productions on the Peeled and Revealed documentary series. Paul also composed the original score and will be featured as a homeless musician in the independent dramatic film short Wish I Could See, scheduled for release in 2013. Paul continues to perform throughout the west coast.

Cast of Clowns are BACK!! – 9:30pm

Greg Anton, Jeff Pevar, Robin Sylvester, Craig Wright & Special Guests …….you know they’ll be special

Cast of Clowns was founded by Craig Wright in April of 2008 and has played regularly up and down the West Coast, and in Hawaii, steadily developing a loyal fan-base and a reputation as part fun machine, part harbinger. Focusing on Wright’s original material and lyrics penned by the Grateful Dead’s Robert Hunter the Clowns songs seek out new approaches flowering into future traditions while staying steeped in the roots of San Francisco.

Cast of Clowns shows feature world-class players, each contributing their unique part to the center ring’s songs and sonic explorations.

At every show Wright is joined by co-founder, drummer and psychedelic settler, Greg Anton, (also founding member of jam band pioneers Zero), whose creative contributions include co-writing with Hunter and Wright.

Regular contributing members include guitarist Jeff Pevar, (Crosby Stills and Nash, Ray Charles, Phil and Friends), Melvin Seals, (Jerry Garcia Band, Master of The Universe), Damian Erskine, (Gino Vanelli), Robin Sylvester, (Ratdog), and Stu Allen, (JGB).

Very special guest appearances have included and often do include Bill Kreutzmann, Barry Sless, Banana, Chip Roland, Futoshi Morioka, Dan Duffin, Matt Hartle, Jimmy Hubbard, Michelle Bellamy, Michael Saint John, Duke Davis, Mikey Stevens, and Paul Branin.

Cast of Clowns is currently producing both a studio and live album while playing select dates over the Spring and Summer of 2011.
